What The Duck Nagore Road

What the ... duck?

The name What The Duck is absolutely a catchy and pretty straightforward one,
anybody would have guessed this place serves duck. Aboden?
The man behind, Daniel Tan has been cooking since he was in primary school and has worked with
many international hotels and fine dining restaurants. He has won himself some distinctive awards
which included a gold medal in the Pattaya City Culinary Cup Malaysia team in 2014.
His ultimate goal is to open his own restaurant as he prefers to do what he wants with
the food creations, his dream came true with What The Duck.
He chose 'duck' as the main element of the restaurant as he claimed
it is a challenging task to cook a good duck dish. Challenge is what motivates him.
Without further ado, let the duck feast begin before they waddle away!
Duck Lover Platter of Trio [RM16.80]
This starter platter comprises of thick, creamy duck chowder topped with bread stick,
sliced juicy smoked duck with appetizing tomato cilantro salsa and Thai style duck roll
wrapped with lettuce, carrot, cilantro, lemongrass,
shredded duck meat, lemon and fish gravy and cili padi.
Duck Confit [RM20.90]
One of the chef's signatures, duck was marinated with garlic, spices and soaked overnight in vegetable oil then roasted for three hours, served with mashed sweet potato and longan sauce.
Love the crispy skin!
Summer Plum Stew Duck [RM20.90]
Duck was braised with plum until meat is tender, served with potato puree,
gravy and mashed potato. As compared to the previous duck dish, this one is softer
but my favorite still goes to the crispy duck confit.
Smoked Duck Pizza [RM18.90]
I was a little horrified as I thought the white drizzle was mayonnaise,
not a fan of them but thankfully, it was aioli. Anyway,
go for this if you're not keen of duck dish, but do note that there's still duck in this pizza haha!
Sizzling Brownies [RM16.80]
Here comes the champion! Soft, warm brownies topped with homemade salted duck egg
ice-cream, caramelized bananas and drizzled with caramel sauce.
At first I thought the ice-cream would taste funny but it was THE BOMB!
They serve set lunch ranges from RM14.50 to RM20.90,
inclusive of soup of the day, main course and beverage. Absolutely worth it!
Huge thanks to the team for hosting!
