Aveda Gurney Plaza

Aveda Experience Center has finally made its way to Penang!
The name might not be familiar to many(at least for me),
but I'm pretty sure most of you have seen this poster.
Ring a bell?
Founded in Minnesota by Horst Rechelbacher in 1978, Horst saw the vision of the company
when learnt about the science of Ayurveda(traditional holistic system of medicine
and surgery from India) during his trip to India.
Aveda, pronaunced as ah-vay-da, means 'all knowledge' in Sanskrit.
Aveda produces a range of skin care, cosmetics, hair products
as well as providing professional training at their institutes in the states.
To date, their products are available in Aveda Experience Centers and more than
7,000 professional hair salons and spas in more than 30 countries.
Not only manufacturing products for us to look good, the company's mission is to care
for the world by giving back to the society. If you were to read more about them,
they do fund raising events to save the environment.
Apart from that, the brand doesn't only emphasizes on outer beauty, but inner well being too.
Here's something interesting
Hello Mr. Chakra!
If you watched Naruto, you might have heard of Chakra.
Unless all you remembered was kage bunshin no jutsu followed by multiple sexy girls.
Anyway, Chakras are the energy points in our body which energy flows through.
If any of the energy points are blocked, it can lead to emotional and physical illness.
So, it is important to understand what each chakra represents and to keep the energy flow freely.
They have these 7 body mist for chakra balancing -
Grounded, Nourished, Intention, Harmony, Expressive, Insight and Wisdom.
Check out this website http://www.misterchakra.com/ to understand further.
It's pretty interesting.
Besides shopping for their products, they have a ritual station where shoppers
are pampered with tea ritual, aroma sensory journey, neck massage and hand massage.
"Aveda is best experienced with all five senses. At Aveda, we offer our guests
the pleasure of discovery - of aromas, products, techniques and sensations,"
said the brand's general manager Linda Lee.
It's a whole new sensory journey here.
Oh and they offer hair make-over too!
Getting their scalp treatment massage with Invati hair revitalizer and the brush that I want badly!
This wooden paddle brush is specially designed for scalp treatments and detangling,
there's an air cushion in the middle, allowing you to press down to stimulate
and massage the scalp! It can also be used for shoulder massage yaw.
And this brilliant brush costs RM188 :(
What's in the goodie bag that made me leaped in joy:
Their hero product, Invati travel-sized shampoo, conditioner and scalp revitalizer.
Made of an invigorating blend of Ayurvedic herbs that include turmeric and ginseng,
the products help to remove clogged pores and renew your scalp,
thicken your hair and keep your hair longer.
Not only for people with hair-thinning problem, but also those who wants
long healthy hair without having severe hair drop along the way.
I tried them and fell in love immediately, and now I can get my scalp massage at home!
It has become my daily ritual after washing my hair, without the awesome brush though.
Oh and there was also this soy wax candle that I have finished burning.
Made of ginger and ginger lily from India, the aroma puts me in a total zen mode.
I normally keep these luxurious stuff for special occasion but I figured, life is too short to not indulge.
Drop by the store at Gurney Plaza ground floor and
make yourself shine inside out today!
